Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
How does the VeloCore listing differ from BowFlex's C6?
The current VeloCore listing documents lean-or-stationary operation, a built-in HD touchscreen, 100 magnetic levels, JRNY/Peloton/Zwift routes and a 325 lb maximum. C6 is a separate SKU with an LCD and rider-supplied phone or tablet, 330 lb capacity, and no listed leaning mode. The VeloCore's 16/22 screen choice, current account/subscription terms and larger workout envelope should be checked against the exact package.

No. The current VeloCore Bike - 22 page lists 16- and 22-inch screen sizes under the current HFC0072-OS item, while BowFlex's separate VeloCore Bike 16 support page says that older model is discontinued and directs owners to serial-specific manuals and warranty help. Ask for the exact box, SKU and serial; do not treat a screen-size label as proof of the older bike's model-year or hardware revision.

BowFlex lists a 59.8 x 24.1-inch body and an 84 x 60-inch workout area; the 16-inch screen configuration is 52.6 inches high/155 lb with its listed dumbbells, and the 22-inch version is 55.3 inches high/158.3 lb with them. The manual calls for a 24-inch access side and 12 inches on the opposite side for lean movement, while the assembly video advises 24 inches around the bike. Measure the real room, ceiling, doorway and stair turns and confirm the exact screen/package; body dimensions alone are not safe clearance.

BowFlex's current US product route identifies the VeloCore Bike - 22, SKU HFC0072-OS. The same page describes the touchscreen as available in nominal 16- or 22-inch sizes. Its embedded listing data shows one default product variant rather than separate screen-specific SKUs, so the page does not tell a buyer which monitor will be in a particular box. Treat the screen size as a real configuration difference, but confirm it on the written order and carton before accepting delivery. Do not identify an older used “VeloCore Bike 16” from screen size alone: BowFlex's separate support article calls that older product discontinued and says serial number determines the correct revision and support path.
The current page lists both screen options at 100 magnetic resistance levels, a 325-pound maximum, and the same 59.8-by-24.1-inch body footprint. It lists the 16-inch version at 52.6 inches tall and 155 pounds with the supplied dumbbells, versus 55.3 inches and 158.3 pounds for the 22-inch version. The older owner manual reports bike-only weights before those US/Canada dumbbells are added: 149 and 152.3 pounds. These are configuration-specific published figures, not our measurements. For lifting, doorway turns and ceiling checks, identify the screen first rather than borrowing the 22-inch dimensions for every box.
Leaning mode is a functional difference, not a riding verdict
Unlike BowFlex's C6, the VeloCore is built to lean side to side or remain stationary. That gives the buyer a choice of movement mode; it does not demonstrate better training, realism or durability. The bike's fixed-gear design also means the pedals follow the flywheel, and the manual instructs riders to let both come to a full stop before dismounting. It cautions against back-pedaling. Follow the exact manual, especially if a household expects to step off quickly or share the bike in a cramped area.
The current product and support pages list 100 magnetic resistance levels and a 33-pound belt-driven flywheel. A step count is a control scale, not a standardized workload shared with other bikes, and a flywheel weight is not a measured claim about sound or smoothness. We did not ride, test or own this machine. BowFlex lists a pair of three-pound dumbbells, Bluetooth heart-rate armband and dual-sided pedals with toe cages on one face and SPD clips on the other. The listing also names compatible SPD cleats. Confirm the included components on the exact order; a used machine or changed package may not contain the parts shown on the current page.
The built-in touchscreen separates this model from the C6's backlit LCD and separate-device media rack. BowFlex names JRNY, Peloton and Zwift for the VeloCore listing, but those names do not mean every app feature is free or that another account will pair automatically. BowFlex says no ongoing membership is required to ride, a JRNY account opens free workouts, full JRNY requires membership, and connected third-party apps require their own subscriptions. Wi-Fi is required for the touchscreen's connected experience. Confirm the current software, service terms and app support for the intended phone or account before choosing the bike for a specific digital class routine.
Plan the moving envelope and the delivery route
The 59.8-by-24.1-inch body is only the bike's listed footprint. The manual gives an 84-by-60-inch workout area and specifies 24 inches on the access side plus 12 inches on the opposite side for lean movement. The current assembly video separately advises a 24-inch work allowance around the perimeter. Those instructions are not the same measurement, so use the exact unit's manual and ask BowFlex which layout applies if your room is tight; do not treat the smaller body rectangle as operating clearance. Check ceiling height as well: current support guidance is rider height plus 19.5 inches. Measure the carton path, stairs and turns separately from the assembled position.
The manual says assembly requires two people, which is consistent with a machine above 150 pounds once the listed dumbbells are included. It also gives careful pedal-installation directions: start threads straight by hand and do not force them, since damaged threads can let a pedal loosen. The product page lists adjustable seat and four-way adjustable handlebars, but the reviewed specification does not quantify travel. BowFlex's suggested rider range of 5 feet 1 inch to 6 feet 5 inches and the 325-pound maximum are useful manufacturer screens, not an individual fit assessment. Verify saddle and handlebar reach in person where possible, and follow the serial-matched manual for setup.
Service terms and who should compare it
BowFlex currently lists two years for the frame and mechanical parts, one year for the touchscreen/electronics and one year of labor. Its support page describes home-use-only warranty coverage; check the written terms if this would go in a shared amenity, workplace or other non-private setting. The support page also states a 30-day satisfaction guarantee with conditions, including prior return authorization and original packaging, while shipping and handling are not refunded. Warranty and return coverage can differ for a secondhand machine or non-manufacturer seller, so request the exact terms rather than treating a current product page as a used-bike promise.
The current BowFlex recall page checked for this assessment names a 552/1090 dumbbell notice, not the VeloCore. That dated check is not a permanent or serial-level safety clearance; check current notices and the bike's serial before buying or using a used unit. The VeloCore merits comparison when a rider specifically wants the lean/stationary choice, built-in screen and app route, and can accommodate its access and weight. It is a weaker match if the room cannot provide its clearance, app dependence is unwelcome, or exact screen contents cannot be confirmed. This is a source-based configuration assessment, not a hands-on review, and it makes no claim about rider experience or measured performance.
