A useful fit for

Compare it when an integrated 22-inch-class screen, 32 listed magnetic steps and a studio-style frame matter, and the exact model-page dimensions work in the room.

The main tradeoff

The Echelon Fit connection is material, Zwift is not currently supported, and the exact product page conflicts with the collection table on width and weight.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Is this the 22-inch EX-5s rather than the 10-inch manual family?

The current US collection identifies an EX-5S-22 and links to this exact 22-inch-class product page. Its variants are Black SKU ECH01-EX5s and Mossy Oak SKU ECH01-EX5s-MOC; the separate EX-5s-10 support manual is not silently merged into this assessment.

Does the EX-5s work with Zwift?

Echelon's current help article says its Echelon Fit app does not currently integrate with Zwift. Verify any must-have third-party service before ordering; a Bluetooth connection alone does not establish compatibility.

Which EX-5s dimensions should I use for a narrow-room plan?

The exact 22-inch product page lists 58 x 21.5 x 61 inches and 124 lb, but the collection comparison table shows 58 x 20 inches and 106 lb gross weight. Use the exact page conservatively and ask Echelon or the seller to confirm the order's current body and carton details before delivery.

Does the runDISNEY-labelled EX-5s-22 package mean the bike hardware is a different model?

The offer page uses the same ECH01-EX5s SKU and describes the EX-5s-22 22-inch configuration, while adding a package-specific soundbar, Premier trial and terms. Treat it as a covered offer/package variant, not a second frame or screen configuration; verify eligibility and contents for that exact offer.

The 22-inch EX-5s is a distinct screen configuration

Echelon's US Connect-bike collection currently labels this option EX-5S-22, while its exact product page names the Echelon Fitness EX-5s Connect Bike. The captured product page lists a standard black version with SKU ECH01-EX5s and a Mossy Oak finish with SKU ECH01-EX5s-MOC. The finish changes the appearance; the screen-equipped EX-5s configuration is not the same product as the no-screen EX-5 or the higher-feature EX-8s. This assessment covers those two finish variants of the 22-inch-class product, not the separate 10-inch EX-5s manual family in Echelon Support.

The manufacturer lists a 22-inch-class HD touchscreen, 32 resistance levels, Bluetooth connectivity to the Echelon Fit app, dual-sided SPD-compatible clips and adjustable toe cages. The touchscreen flips for off-equipment workouts. These features make it easier to follow an on-screen class than a bike whose console only holds a tablet, but the display is not evidence that a subscription, account, or every streaming app is included in the delivered package.

Check the app and membership before treating it as a smart-bike solution

Echelon's help center says a Connect bike should be connected to the Echelon Fit app over Bluetooth; without that link, resistance will not register and workout data will not be stored. Echelon Fit and Echelon Premier are not the same thing: the product page offers Premier access for live and on-demand classes, personalized workouts and FitOS features as a separate membership choice. Review the current membership term, trial, cancellation, account and tablet/software requirements before assuming the EX-5s's screen unlocks a particular class library.

For third-party app decisions, generic Bluetooth wording is not enough. Echelon's current app-support article says the company does not currently support integration with Zwift. The EX-5s should therefore not be treated as a match for a buyer whose essential choice is Zwift just because it connects to Echelon Fit. Its support for other health or account connections described in Echelon's app materials is not the same as direct bike control or compatibility with every named training app. Confirm any must-have software with Echelon using the exact model and device.

Read the dimensional discrepancy before planning a narrow room

The exact EX-5s product page lists a 58-inch length, 21.5-inch width, 61-inch height and 124-pound product weight, with a 300-pound maximum user weight. Echelon's side-by-side collection table instead lists the EX-5S-22 as 58 by 20 inches and shows a 106-pound gross-product-weight entry. Those figures conflict with the more detailed model page. This assessment uses the exact product page for the conservative width and the stated product weight, but the mismatch is important enough to verify against the order's actual SKU and current assembly documentation before planning a tight fit or delivery.

Neither set of dimensions describes the space needed to mount or dismount, work around the handlebars, pivot the screen, assemble the frame or carry its carton through doors and stairs. The EX-5s page describes seat and handlebar movement both vertically and fore/aft, plus front transport wheels, but does not provide quantified rider-height or adjustment-travel ranges in the reviewed product facts. Treat the published 300-pound limit and directional adjustment as screening information, not evidence of personal comfort or suitability.

Pedals and storage are configuration checks, too

The product page lists dual-sided pedals with SPD-compatible clips and adjustable toe cages. That gives a choice of footwear interface on paper, but cleat type, pedal setup, shoe fit and the exact delivered pedals should be checked before a rider relies on them. The page also describes rear-mounted dumbbell holders and a note about 2-pound dumbbells; it does not justify assuming that dumbbells are included. It lists two bottle holders below the handlebars, elevated bullhorn-style handlebars with elbow rests and a vented seat. None of those descriptions replaces an inspection of the final package contents, especially on a used bike or a retailer bundle.

Where it sits beside the EX-8s and EX-5

The EX-5s-22's main distinction is a 22-inch-class touchscreen paired with app-connected workouts and 32 resistance settings. The EX-8s steps up to a curved 24-inch-class screen and 15 flywheel light zones, while its page also describes app-controlled auto-resistance. The EX-5 leaves out an integrated display and uses a holder for a separately supplied device. All three current collection models list a 300-pound maximum, but their listed bodies and display/control packages differ; do not carry one model's hardware, dimensions or app details into another.

Echelon also has a separate runDisney-labelled EX-5s-22 offer page using the same ECH01-EX5s bike SKU. That package page describes a 22-inch screen, a soundbar and a 90-day Premier trial alongside its own warranty and membership wording. It is a bundle/terms difference, not evidence of another EX-5s frame or a second screen configuration. Verify the eligibility and exact included items for that particular offer rather than transferring its soundbar, trial or warranty terms to a black or Mossy Oak EX-5s-22 listing.

The full US store also lists partner and certified-open-box pages under that same ECH01-EX5s SKU, alongside a separate membership offer. Those are offer/condition distinctions rather than new bike identities, but they can change the seller, the unit's condition, warranty or membership package. Check the exact listing and current return and warranty terms; a base-bike review does not certify a particular open-box unit or partner bundle.

The EX-5s-22 is a reasonable shortlist candidate when an integrated 22-inch display is useful, the manufacturer-listed 300-pound maximum and room dimensions work, and Echelon Fit's connected route suits the household. It is a poor fit if Zwift is essential, if a screen-free or app-independent experience is preferred, or if the 20-versus-21.5-inch collection/page dimension conflict cannot be resolved for the order. This is a research-based assessment of published model information, not a hands-on riding report. Confirm the selected black or Mossy Oak SKU, screen size, included pedals and storage components, membership terms, space allowance, delivery route and return conditions before paying.
